High CAPE forecast for KS, OK

This is one of the main forecast tools for predicting severe weather. The CAPE measures how much available atmospheric energy is stored up and ready to be used to initiate and sustain thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms are generally forecast when the CAPE is at least 1500 J/Kg. Today, we may see values in the 3000 - 4000 range over KS and OK.
