At 1:30 PM, radar continues to indicate an area of moderate to heavy snowfall over a large portion of east central MO.
A couple of heavier mesoscale bands have developed. One of these bands stretches from St. Louis city through O'Fallon and Belleville, IL moving north. The other band stretches from White Hall, IL to Troy, MO to New Haven, MO and is rotating to the east/southeast and will come through the St. Louis metro within the next hour or so. These bands are capable of bringing 1"/hour snowfall rates.
Deformation zone now influencing snowfall across east central MO. I would expect another 2-4" in the immediate St. Louis metro area through the rest of the afternoon. This would bring totals in the range of 4-10" through most of St. Louis and adjacent counties in MO and IL.
