Recertified Level 1 SKYWARN Training this morning at Jefferson Barracks. Mike Redman of the St. Louis County Police Department did a great job as always.
So ironic that he mentioned Xenia twice and played the Weather Channel video "It Could Happen Tomorrow" episode about a future direct hit of a tornado on St. Louis. That episode starts out with the Xenia, OH F5 and then uses that as an example for St. Louis. That would be pure Deja vu for me. I felt like standing up and announcing that I was from there and survived it but didn't.
Mike also played some other videos, most of which I've seen before but a few that I haven't. He also showed many historical photos from past tornadoes in St. Louis. I had never seen the video of the tornado hitting the train in IL. That was really unbelievable. Check it out below.
