Winter to arrive in Missouri on first day of Spring

Nearly this whole Winter has been void of any actual Winter like weather. Sure, there was a little snow here and there and temperatures did dip into the single digits a few time, but all in all it has been a calm and farily mild Winter.

That's all about to change. The NWS has issued Winter Storm Watches for most of Northern Missouri. So far, Eastern MO is not in a watch, but that could change. Computer models are dumping between 4 -12 inches over the Northern MO and also hint at the possibility of a little thundersnow which can enhance snowfall rates.

Update : The immediate St. Louis area received between 2-4 inches of snow, while northern MO and the Northern half of IL received up to 9 inches. Cool weather will continue through the end of the week.

  1. I would not mind a good wet snow fall. The area needs a slow soaking and a good 4-5 inches of snow will work wonders.
