Thunderstorms overnight and SEVERE WEATHER later today and tomorrow

Round 1 has completed. At 3:00 AM, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was in effect for Jefferson CO., MO. Locally, I received .6" of rain from this particular storm. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was also in effect (Just Jefferson CO. MO and a couple of counties in SW IL in the NWS KDO-89 listening area) and points south and southeast.

It will be a warm day with highs in the mid to upper 70's and increasing humidity. Storms could redevelop later this afternoon and tonight once again. The SPC has the entire area in a slight risk for severe weather through tonight with the main threats being large hail and damaging winds.

Sunday may be a dangerous weather day for a large portion of the middle Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley including the St. Louis area. The SPC already has this area in a Moderate Risk for severe weather for tomorrow afternoon and night. An outbreak of severe thunderstorms and a few strong tornadoes may occur and people are encouraged to monitor reports by the National Weather Service or local media outlets from this afternoon through Sunday evening.
