St. Louis escapes most of Severe Weather

Just a brief post. I haven't had enough to look at what happened yesterday yet and I'm having network problems this morning. I do know that there was a large tornado that traveled between Sedalia and Columbia. That same supercell continued to drop tornadoes into Illinois. All of that first impulse stayed north of St. Louis. The second wave initiated over SE KS and W. MO last evening and traveled across the state entering Eastern MO after 2:00 AM. I was awakened at 3:30 and there were several Severe Thunderstorm warnings in effect for the area. I received .3" of rain between 3:30 and 4:00 AM this morning. The broken line of storms rapidly moved through by 4:00 AM. Cooler air will be rushing into the area this afternoon. I'm also trying to find out what the F rating was on the tornado(s) that stuck south of St. Louis 2 days ago. Will post here when I find out or if others can comment on this.

  2. .02" what storms? I would say we received most of the precipitation Saturday and nothing but lots of scares talk from the local guys. It was fun to watch the local weather guys/gals work for a change. None of this “happy weather talk” for me.

I would rather die in the eye of a Hurricane or the vortex of a tornado, then in a nursing home!
